Lunch at Bou Melhem

It’s always exciting when we find a restaurant with a signature dish that adds a twist to an old favorite. We’re even happier when the rest of the dishes are absolutely delicious.
Bou Melhem is a Lebanese restaurant priding itself on preserving the Lebanese traditions, from their food to their infamous traditional Lebanese entertainment nights.

Our experience in a nutshell: great food, Friendly staff and reasonable prices (Check out the Menu)

Hawader Bou Melhem & Salads
// As all Lebanese lunches go, the table was packed with delicious plates of cold Mezze. We started off with the Fattoush, fresh and crunchy but we felt it could use a little kick; the warak enab were fantastic and so was the Baladieh Cheese topped with olives, radish, walnut and bakleh. It was the first time we try the El Raheb Eggplant, it was topped with bell pepper, spring onions, tomatoes and parsley a very refreshing dish. The Walnut Muhammara, a fabulous spread of Crushed walnut, bread crumbs, red pepper and pomegranate molasses, it was not too spicy and the flavors were well balanced.

The star of the table was the Smoked Hummus; made of creamy delicious hummus with smoked almonds and rocket leaves, the absolute best hummus rendition we’ve ever tried ! A must try !

Hot Starters & From the Oven // Once the hot Mezze hit the table the aromas were absolutely divine. We didn’t know where to start from the addictive crispy, spicy Hot Potatoes (Batata Harra) to the Chicken Ras Asfour smothered in a glorious creamy pesto sauce everything was just delicious.
The Grilled Cheese rolls (Rkakat) were crispy and stuffed with gooey cheese that just oozes into your mouth.

The Nayyeh // Although we were about to burst we just couldn’t miss out on this beautifully presented plate with fresh onions and mint leaves. We had a small bite, just enough to taste and it was silky smooth and freshly made.

The Grills// Now, for the pièce de résistance, to conclude this Lebanese feast we enjoyed the Mixed Grill Platter; a huge plate filled with piles of perfectly marinated, melt in your mouth juicy chunks of Taouk, Lahme, Kafta, Lamb Chops and grilled veggies and pickles.
So good, so satisfying and always a great choice !
